CPA Society recycling event collects 17K lbs. of e-waste

Members of the CPA Society had the chance to deliver their old equipment for recycling.

During the fourth edition of its “Electronic Equipment Recycling Day” event, the Puerto Rico CPA Society collected more than 17,000 pounds of unwanted electronics that will be kept out of the island’s dumpsters.

The event took place Jan. 26 in Hato Rey, when organization members paid to deliver e-waste that included monitors, television sets, printers and other items that cannot be placed with the regular garbage due to their high content of environmentally unfriendly toxic substances.

Over the past four years, the CPA Society has held an annual recycling event to collect electronic equipment, which organizers have said is “always busy and successful.” Reciclajes del Norte handles the task of recycling the equipment gathered.
