Econo lands P.R. Products Association ‘business excellence’ award

Supermercados Econo recently received the award for Excellence in Management Quality, for its track record of quality and commitment to the industry, bestowed by the Puerto Rico Products Association.

“Supermercados Econo is committed to providing our customers the best variety and quality of products at the best prices,” said Lino Hernández, chairman of Supermercados Econo. “Thanks to them we continue to grow and that’s why we’re focused on maintaining a more efficient operation every day. For these and other reasons, we feel very honored to receive this award, which recognizes this effort.”

Supermercados Econo was one of 10 companies to receive the Excellence in Management Quality award for the first time this year.

The supermarket chain operates 58 stores in 42 municipalities, employing more than 5,000 people. It was founded 41 years ago by a small group of retailers who banded together to obtain greater purchasing power in benefit of their customers.

Along the way, Econo has made several changes to provide better service to its customers and has begun an expansion to better serve its members. One of the most recent changes has been the re-location of its service center to Carolina, with a capacity four times greater than the one previously used.

    Yo era cliente diario hasta el dia que me robaron en el estacionamiento del ubicado en levittown. La vigilancia para proteger al cliente q esta patrocinando es muy inferior a la q usan para otros propositos q aunque legitimos no mas importante q proteger a los clientes bonafide entre otros. El interes en mi caso entiendo no fue el esperado. Me senti como ahora muy decepcionado. Inclusive el dia de los hechos al irme del estacionamiento antes de virar al percatarme del robo q lo q parecian por la vestimenta ser empleados del supermercado mirando sospechosamente mientras yo partia. Eso me estuvo curioso y me da la sospecha q hubo aparentemente coneccion interna. Tambien me da la sospecha q los ladrones saben como opera la seguridad del supermercado. Hace tiempo queria expresar lo sucedido para q si esta en su interes no permitan q clientes como yo era de ustedes experimenten esa desagradable experiencia. Siento no patrocinarlos pero todavia reciento el poco interes mostrado y la deficiente seguridad q dejo q mientras yo realizadmpra
