EDB, Orlando CofC join forces to attract entrepreneurs to Puerto Rico
The Puerto Rico Economic Development Bank (EDB) has announced a new partnership with the Puerto Rican Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida (PRCCCF) to offer comprehensive support to Puerto Rican companies from Central Florida interested in establishing a presence in Puerto Rico.
The collaboration will also afford financial options to small and medium-sized entrepreneurs aiming to extend their operations to the island.
“The EDB, as the main financial entity for economic development in Puerto Rico, is committed to promoting business growth and investment on the island. Through this alliance with the PRCCCF, the EDB will offer financing services of up to $1 million to companies referred to by the PRCCCF,” stated Luis Alemañy González, president of the EDB.
The PRCCCF, noted for advocating the economic and commercial advancement of the Puerto Rican diaspora in Central Florida, will oversee identifying and referring companies interested in setting up operations in Puerto Rico.
“This alliance represents a unique opportunity to promote business activity and economic development in Puerto Rico, while strengthening ties between the Puerto Rican diaspora and the island,” Alemañy said.
“The EDB and the PRCCCF are committed to working hand in hand to provide the necessary support to entrepreneurs who wish to contribute to the growth and prosperity of Puerto Rico,” he added.
Jorge Figueroa-Ortiz, president of the PRCCCF, said that, with this alliance, “we seek to maintain and improve a strong socially responsible business environment based on the principles of free enterprise and equitable profit in our communities. We’re committed to advancing existing businesses and attracting new economic opportunities in Puerto Rico and Central Florida.”
Entrepreneurs from the Puerto Rican diaspora in the states can obtain financing from the EDB to foster economic growth and promote employment on the island once they establish their business locally.
