MCS kicks off recipe challenge to promote health, tradition in Puerto Rico

MCS is promoting wellness across Puerto Rico with the launch of a new culinary phase in its “Wellness Challenge 2025,” inviting residents to share traditional, nutritious recipes.
The effort builds on a May campaign in which more than 700 employees participated in the Teodoro Moscoso Bridge Run and more than 1,000 seniors joined a 2K walk.
With physical activity underway, the company is now turning its focus to nutrition, asking Puerto Ricans to submit meals that reflect the island’s culinary traditions and support healthy eating.
“At MCS, we firmly believe that prevention is key to achieving overall health,” said Pedro Zorrilla, executive vice president of marketing and corporate communications at MCS. “That’s why we want to continue promoting healthy habits starting in the heart of every home — the Puerto Rican kitchen.”
The public is invited to post their favorite nutritious dishes on Facebook or Instagram using the hashtag #MCSWellnessNutrition. Entries should highlight local ingredients or homegrown produce and reflect Puerto Rico’s traditional cuisine. Selected recipes will be featured on MCS’s digital platforms and may be included in a curated recipe collection.
“We’re inviting everyone to share the recipe that makes them feel good — one that honors tradition and proves healthy can be delicious,” Zorrilla said.
The campaign is part of MCS’s broader declaration of 2025 as the “Year of Wellness,” with a focus on preventive care and community-driven programming.
