Passenger traffic at Luis Muñoz Marín Airport jumps 12.6% Y-O-Y in February

Passenger traffic at Puerto Rico’s Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport increased by 12.6% in February, when a total of 984,244 people used the facility, compared to 874,406 on record for the same month of 2023.

So far this year, 2,097,374 passengers have transited through Muñoz Marín Airport, a 10.2% increase from the 1,903,333 reported by Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste (ASUR) — which operates the airport through local company Aerostar — for February 2023.

Puerto Rico reported growth in both domestic (889,959) and international (94,285) traffic last month, marking year-over-year increases of 12% and 17.9%, respectively.

In the first two months of 2024, 1,891,417 domestic and 205,957 international travelers have used the airport, representing 9.2% and 20.7% increases, respectively, compared to the same period last year.

The figures from ASUR are based on the period from Feb. 1-29, 2024, and from Feb. 1-28, 2023, acknowledging that February 2024 had one extra day due to being a leap year.
