Popular rolls ‘Finanzas en tus manos’ program to Culebra

Banco Popular's rolling office was ferried to Culebra recently.

Banco Popular’s institutional program “Finanzas en tus Manos” (“Finances in your hands”) rolled into the island municipality of Culebra on its latest stop through an islandwide tour that will blanket 25 towns.

Bank personnel that offered free financial management workshops to five groups staffed the bus, which was ferried to the small island. The activity was done in coordination with the municipal government, aiming to help foster a better understanding among individuals and businesses of the necessary steps to maintain healthy finances even during difficult times.

“The program has been well received and that’s extremely important because household finances, as well as a company’s, are key to cope with unexpected situations, such as those we’re currently experiencing in our economy,” said Mariel Arraiza, vice president of marketing and business intelligence for Banco Popular.

The program recently received recognition from the American Bankers Association for Outstanding Service in the Community, she said.

The next stops on the tour bus are: Ponce (Mar. 14), Bayamón (Mar. 15) and Santurce (Mar. 21.)
