Banco Popular de Puerto Rico announced that as part of its commitment to customer appreciation, it is bringing back, for the fourth year running, the traditional “Martes de Plaza” discounted shopping events.

This time around, the program will run simultaneously in Plaza Las Américas and Plaza del Caribe shopping centers in Hato Rey and Ponce, respectively. Customers visiting the malls on Tuesdays in December will enjoy discounts on purchases when paying with Banco Popular-issued credit or debit cards.

“Martes de Plaza” offer consumers the chance to save between 10 percent and 50 percent in more than 100 participating stores, as well as other perks. On average, consumers save about 20 percent on their transactions, the bank said.

The customer appreciation event began in 2009, and its acceptance at Plaza Las Américas prompted the bank to expand the concept to the Ponce mall as well as during other holidays throughout the year.
