PenFed Credit Union opens new financial center in Mayagüez

PenFed Credit Union recently hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new financial center in Mayagüez, which joins four other branches on the island.

The 4,000-square-foot branch employs 11 individuals and “represents PenFed’s commitment to meeting the needs of members across Puerto Rico, while continuing to support Puerto Rico’s economy by providing financial services and adding employment opportunities,” company officials said.

“PenFed is proud to expand our service to the Mayagüez community and all of Puerto Rico,” said James Schenck, president of PenFed Credit Union. “The best way to serve Puerto Rico is by creating jobs and helping people achieve their financial dreams. PenFed continues to expand our investment in the people of Puerto Rico.”

The financial center offers a comprehensive range of member services, including loan products, checking and savings accounts, credit cards, and live teller services from Monday through Friday.

In addition to the new Mayagüez center, PenFed currently serves members in Puerto Rico with financial centers in San Juan, Hatillo, Ponce, and on the U.S. Army Garrison Fort Buchanan. PenFed opened a Bilingual Service Center in Guaynabo in 2022.
