Toyota raises $185K for CAP Foundation pediatric care
Toyota de Puerto Rico raised more than $185,000 in its third annual Toyota Open golf tournament, held to benefit the CAP Foundation, which supports pediatric cancer patients at the Dr. Antonio Ortiz University Pediatric Hospital in San Juan.
“Through the Toyota Open, we reaffirm our commitment to the CAP Foundation, supporting its mission to offer hope and treatment to children with cancer,” said Jaycie Dane, president of Toyota de Puerto Rico.
“Each tournament represents much more than a competition; it is an opportunity to mobilize our community and contribute to a cause that reflects our values of respect, solidarity and teamwork,” she said.
The event, held in Río Grande with the participation of 50 sponsors, remains one of the foundation’s key fundraising initiatives. The funds raised will support patient care programs, the acquisition of specialized medical equipment and assistance for families of children undergoing cancer treatment.
“At CAP, we greatly value our partnership with Toyota,” said Lourdes Viscasillas, the foundation’s executive director. “The funds received from the Toyota Open will help us continue strengthening our direct patient programs, acquiring specialized equipment and assisting families with their basic daily needs.”
The CAP Foundation works to improve the quality of life of pediatric oncology patients and provide assistance to their families through essential services and resources.
“We’re deeply grateful to collaborate once again with the CAP Foundation,” Dane said. “This event allows us to contribute to a cause that touches the hearts of everyone who works for Toyota in Puerto Rico. We will continue to support initiatives that combine the sporting spirit with solidarity and a commitment to our community.”
