Fundación CAP raises more than $1M during ‘Uniendo Cabezas’ event

Fundación CAP held the 14th edition of its emblematic “Uniendo Cabezas” 2024 event, the largest mass shave and hair donation in Puerto Rico, this week, raising more than $1 million.

The event, held at the Coca-Cola Music Hall in the Distrito T-Mobile entertainment complex in San Juan, is the principal fundraising activity for cancer patients in the Children’s Hospital Oncology Unit.

Supported by the CAPitanes, this year’s event featured Raymond Ayala, known as Daddy Yankee, as the 2024 CAPtain. Edzaell Ehdrian Rodríguez and Gabriela García, ages 10 and 17 respectively, served as CAPtains for child patients.

“At Fundación CAP we’re very satisfied with the results of today’s event. We have an exceptional group of volunteers, our CAPtain 2024 Daddy Yankee, as well as the patient captains, and of course the support of the people who gathered here at the Coca-Cola Music Hall for the shave and hair donation,” said Denise Espinosa, chairwoman of the foundation’s board.

Sandra Torres-Clemente, the foundation’s executive director, confirmed that “100% of the funds raised stay in Puerto Rico. The donations are intended to strengthen the services and maintain the facilities of the Children’s Hospital Oncology Unit in optimal conditions.”
