Universidad del Este, SBA partner for entrepreneurship
The Universidad del Este and the U.S. Small Business administration have partnered to work together on a plan to “create, preserve, and expand” small businesses in Puerto Rico.
As part of the agreement, both parties will provide current information on SBA programs and services to businesses and future entrepreneurs. The UNE and SBA will offer workshops, conferences and seminars on SBA financing offers and governmental processes, among other business-related topics. Meanwhile, members of both organizations will be invited to participate in corporate events hosted by both entities.
“With this partnership we give the opportunity to our university community to learn about the business world and develop as entrepreneurs,” said Alberto Maldonado-Ruiz, UNE rector.
“The UNE’s interest in developing this type of partnership is that we can expand small business development both within and outside of Puerto Rico, with programs to help future entrepreneurs such as the SBA’s, Foundation of Puerto Rico and international trade initiatives by the State Department,” he added.
Part of the alliance calls for establishing links between the UNE and the SBA on their respective websites, to inform about the services and activities by both institutions during the year. The UNE will inform its members, faculty and students on SBA services.
