Delta adds new JFK/San Juan flight
Delta Air Lines announced Thursday the introduction of a new daily frequency from New York’s JFK International Airport to the Luis Muñoz Marín Airport. The new flight will operate from Dec. 19, expanding to five the daily services Delta operates between these cities.
Delta’s expanded San Juan-JFK service means increased connectivity to New York and 30 international destinations. The new flight will take off just in time for the busy holiday season, when Puerto Ricans travel to and from the U.S. mainland — and especially the tri-state area — for Christmas.
“Puerto Rico is crucial to Delta’s success in New York and the airline is diligently working to meet customers’ expectations by offering increased connectivity, enhanced on-board services and state-of-the-art technology applied to travel,” the company said in a statement.
Customers may also enjoy the benefits of Delta’s new Terminal 4 at JFK International Airport which opened on May 24 and is part of a $1.4 billion redevelopment project, as this media outlet reported.
The new terminal includes experience improvements such as nine new and seven renovated international gates; improved and renovated check-in areas, including a dedicated Sky Priority check-in area; an enlarged and centralized security checkpoint; new retail and dining options from some of New York’s most well-known chefs; and a new, 24,000-square-foot flagship Delta Sky Club with the first-ever Sky Deck rooftop terrace.
The additional flight schedule is now available for booking through www.delta.com, the carrier said.
