Groupon launches free iPad app for Puerto Rico market

In addition to expanding the Groupon iPad app to 12 new markets, Groupon also unveiled updates to the company’s iPhone apps.

Group coupon purveyor Groupon announced Tuesday the debut of its Groupon iPad app in Puerto Rico, as well as other mobile updates that seek to make life easier for shoppers. Just in time for the holiday season, Groupon subscribers can now use the Groupon iPad app, in addition to the Groupon iPhone apps to purchase deals from their favorite merchants.

The Groupon iPad app includes:

  • A vibrant and sleek user interface to facilitate easier navigation to buy and redeem deals from local businesses, as well as retailers and travel providers;
  • Browsing deals on dining experiences, spa treatments, fitness classes and more;
  • Tracking and redeeming purchased Groupon deals by location and expiration date;
  • Searching for gifts to for that special someone and delivering them using the new “gift sender” feature, which enables users to pick the recipient and add a personal note.

In addition to expanding the Groupon iPad app to 12 new markets, Groupon also unveiled updates to the company’s iPhone apps. With the latest enhancements, the app automatically detects when a user’s location has changed and enables them to view local Groupon deals anywhere in the world — all without having to manually change their geographic preferences.

The Groupon app is available thorugh the iTunes App store.
