DDB Latina Puerto Rico swept the most recent edition of the FIAP awards.

Advertising agency DDB Latina Puerto Rico won a Golden Sun award, three Silver Sun awards and a Bronze Sun award in the most important creative competition of the Spanish-and Portuguese-speaking markets, the Festival Iberoamericano de la Publicidad, for works created for its clients Unilever of Puerto Rico and the Department of Justice.

It was the only local agency awarded at the most recent festival.

During the event, held in Mexico, the ad “Ticket” won the Golden Sun award in the Graphics category, while the “Jury” and “Loan” ads won Silver Sun awards in that same category. These ads were created by DDB Latina Puerto Rico as part of a global campaign for Unilever’s Wall’s ice cream brand. These pieces also won the only Silver Lion obtained by local agencies in the most recent Cannes Festival.

In addition, the agency received Silver Sun in the Press and Public Relations category for the digital communication effort “AXE Assurance.” The initiative created for AXE, Unilever’s leading men’s personal care brand, presented a special coverage protecting their consumers’ belongings from possible damages as a result of the love game.

DDB also nabbed a Bronze Sun in the Radio category for the “Jannette” ad, created for the Department of Justice’s “Safe Internet” program, to alert parents about predators who can hide behind an innocent text message.

“FIAP distinguishing us with these awards reaffirms the world-class talent of our team and solidifies the contribution of the local industry with creative works that generate influence outside our shores,” said Enrique Renta, chief creative officer of DDB Latina Puerto Rico, emphasizing that this festival annually receives more than 8,500 entries and more than 2,500 delegates from Ibero-America, United States and Europe.
