Selected students will be awarded a $30,000 scholarship per year that includes a mentoring program sponsored by the nonprofit.
The UPR had been pursuing the funding since 2017.
The grant funding will be available for three years.
The first of its kind in Puerto Rico, the TurboLab will train students and faculty in aerospace engineering.

The school’s College of Engineering has already received the first $160,000 for the project.
Different workshops relevant to the needs of entrepreneurs will be offered.
Entrepreneurs have until June 15, 2022, to apply for admission.
The program has spent a year training entrepreneurs who seek to make their businesses more competitive.
