Burlington Stores to launch 2nd annual fundraising campaign
Beginning today, Burlington Stores will launch its second annual in-store fundraising campaign to support YouthBuild USA, a global nonprofit aiding opportunity youth aged 16 to 24 who are out of school and unemployed. These donations help youths reclaim their education, acquire job skills and become community leaders.
All donations made at Burlington Stores’ checkouts will support YouthBuild USA, “helping to build brighter futures in local communities nationwide,” the retailer stated.
Last year Burlington and its customers raised more than $1.4 million for the cause. The current fundraising cycle runs through May 13.
“I feel very enthusiastic about the new skills that I have acquired with the program, and thankful for this second opportunity that has been given to me,” said José T., a member of the program in Puerto Rico, about how he has benefited from YouthBuild.
“At YouthBuild, we’re committed to creating a world where all young people are seen for their potential, and their power,” said John Valverde, president of YouthBuild USA.
“We’re grateful for our partnership with Burlington, which strengthens YouthBuild USA and our network as we equip opportunity youth with the knowledge, tools and love they need to thrive,” he added.
